Prout’s Neck in Scarborough, Maine

This afternoon I parked at Ferry Beach on Prout’s Neck and walked along the sandy beach that is in the process of being restored from erosion. The giant Caterpillar equipment that is being used was parked in the parking lot. At the far end of the Ferry Beach I crossed the road and walked to the beginning of the path that runs around Prout’s neck and over some wonderful and amazing rocky ledges and vistas of islands and breaking surf. I saw many Eiders, Black Scoters, White Winged Scoters, Long Tailed Ducks, Grebes, Loons and a couple Golden Eyes.
